Barn and Outbuildings at Casey Farm

Thomas Goodale Casey began work on the cow barns seen here in 1850. His nephew, Thomas Lincoln Casey, completed them by 1855. Tenant farmer Thomas Gould, his wife Sadie, their four girls, and one or two farmhands cared for the cows, made their milk into cheese, and sent the cheese to market and to the Caseys in Washington, D.C..
