Front Yard

A fence built in 1877 once divided the lawn in front of the farm house. Today we have planted new varieties of disease-resistant elm trees and some heirloom apple trees in this space. It would seem no one was in the picture in the 1870s view, but zoom in to the carriage house in the background—perhaps a farm hand?
