Summer

Summer brings a lot of activity with farm tours, children’s summer camps, and the start of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) season. About 150 families pay into the CSA program at the start of the season, or agree to pay with their labor for a certain number of hours, and then for twenty weeks they pick up their share of the harvest. A bounty of fruits and veggies are available for CSA members to pick up each week and for everyone to purchase at the weekly farmers markets. Farmers turn their attention to irrigation and weeding in the fields, adding successions of planting after they harvest throughout the summer months. The farm becomes the setting for special events, group tours, and walks to Casey Point.
